2/16/24: Uniswap Plugins Soon 🔌🤨🇺🇸

Top News

Specs’ Breakdown

⌐◪-◪ → Uniswap Foundation just announced a tentative launch date of Q3 2024 for Uniswap V4, shortly after the Dencun upgrade. The upgrade’s primary features are “singleton” contracts and “hooks”.

The singleton contract consolidates all liquidity pools within a single framework, reducing gas costs up to 99% and enabling cheaper multi-pool swaps.

Hooks are like “plugins” or “extensions” that allow for the execution of customized code during key events within a pool. This enabled things like on-chain limit orders, stop loss orders, time-weighted average market making, auto-compounding LP fees, and more.

Hooks are going to be a massive game-changer for Uniswap and all of DeFi. Messari anticipates 25% of Uniswaps volume will be directed through order type hooks (hook-apps).

DeFi researcher Ignas went as far as comparing hooks to the dawn of the App Store, opening the doors for anyone to build and distribute their own apps.

In short, Uniswap V4 means higher customizability and further gas optimization.

⌐◪-◪ → Alexandre Arnault, the son of the richest man on earth, Bernard Arnault, wants to sell his CryptoPunk #3167.

For those who don’t know, Alexandre is the driving force at LVMH’s luxury brands Rimowa & Tiffany & Co.

In Jan 2022, Alexandre purchased punk #3167 for $416k, which was shortly before he launched NFTiff — a bespoke collection of CryptoPunk pendants handcrafted by Tiffany.

Now, 2 years later, he's trying to sell his punk for $259k, a loss of $157k loss or -37.8% of his original investment.

To be fair, I’m denominating in dollars like a normie. If we denominate in ETH, he stands to make a 1 ETH profit if the sale goes through. Lol.

I suppose he can call this a win though considering he sold 250x NFTiffs for $50k each, but…

Shilling your $258k CryptoPunk listing as a “bargain” on Twitter — when you’re the son of the richest man in the world —  richest man is not a good look, especially when it’s overpriced by 2x.

⌐◪-◪ → At last, Elizabeth Warren has seen the light!

She just endorsed Bitcoin by signing an order to fly a ceremonial flag over the US Capitol in honor of Satoshi Nakamoto.

Sike — she just got trolled by Bitcoiners 🤣.

Apparently, anyone can purchase a flag that has been flown over the Capitol, and it’s cheaper than you think — only $30.

I have a sneaking suspicion this stunt was funded by the Bitcoin Maxis at PubKey bar in NYC, but I suppose we may never know.

To be honest, I was a little sad when I read the headline. A small part of me enjoys Elizabeth Warren being the villain, but I suppose if she changes her stance (not gonna happen) we still have Gary Gensler and Jamie Dimon to fuel our inner fire.

Anyway, good work Anon. 10/10 troll.
